ORGANIZATIONAL OVERVIEW:
ADYA (Afrikan Descent Youth Affairs) began in 2010 as a 501 c 3 non-profit (EIN IS 35-2350175).
ADYA's organizational Mission is empowering youth of color with tools, resources, experience to excel in academia, creation & ownership, along their path to becoming productive human beings.
Our Vision is to implement a sustainable platform leading the path for academic development, sustainable entrepreneurship, higher learning enrollment, critical thinking, and scholarship support for youths of color.
All ADYA members are volunteers, including a six-member executive leadership board. Volunteers govern the organization, research projects and volunteer their time to target student of color development and growth into young leaders of our community.
WHAT WE DO:
We engineer sustainable solutions to tackle some of today's global, social and economic challenges, with a focus on youth and communities of color. Our current program of focus is called Sankofa Tutoring System.
Founded by former business and computer science students from University of Washington, Central Washington University, Seattle University and New York Institute of Technology, ADYA's uniqueness is driven by young professionals from diverse social backgrounds that are combining their skill sets to find solutions to this generation's social and economic challenges.
Our current objective is to build resource capacity to relaunch our flagship programs. You can support by emailing ADYA at info@adyaeffect.org or agyeman@adyaeffect.org
